Sekizen Limited Release Junmai Ginjo "Hydrangea"

The brewery, Nishiida Shuzoten, describes this sake as:

"A fruity aroma reminiscent of hydrangea blossoms gently scented by the rain. Its silky texture evokes a quiet moment in a garden, bringing a sense of calm and contentment."

And indeed, that image comes effortlessly to mind.

Imagine delicate raindrops glistening on hydrangea petals and leaves, their colors deepened by the rain. A gentle breeze carries the subtle fragrance of flowers mingled with the fresh scent of a summer shower, brushing softly across your skin.

This is a sake of remarkable delicacy and atmosphere.

One of the defining characteristics of Sekizen is its masterful use of acidity. Rather than simply adding freshness, the acidity is woven seamlessly into the sake, creating elegance, structure, and balance.

For this limited-edition Junmai Ginjo Hydrangea, the brewery uses Hitogokochi, a premium Nagano-grown sake rice. Combined with an acidity level of 2.0 and an SMV of -2, the result is a sake that feels both smooth and refreshing, while delicate ginjo aromas gently rise from the glass.
